How It Started

Two Families.
One Mission.

Double B Beef wasn't built in a boardroom. It started with a pickup basketball game and two young farmers who couldn't stop talking about the land.

The Beginning

Yance and Mitch became friends through pickup basketball and late-night text messages trading farming ideas. Two young men with the same stubborn desire to make it as farmers in an era that makes that nearly impossible. What started as a friendship became a partnership — and eventually, Double B Beef.

The Calling

Both left the farm for college. Both built careers — Yance in banking, Mitch as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. And both came back. Not because they had to, but because farming isn't just what they do. It's who they are. Stewards of the land. Caretakers of their animals. Providers for their community.

The Animals

What sets Double B Beef apart isn't just the land or the process — it's the standard of care. Yance and Mitch share a deep commitment to doing right by their animals. Every decision made on this ranch starts with one question: are we taking care of them the right way? The answer has to be yes.

Why It Matters

Double B Beef was built to supplement two family farms — but it became something more. It's the relationships built, the families fed, and the stories shared. "The most rewarding part isn't financial," Mitch says. "It's hearing from a family that loves what we do." That's what keeps them going.

Our cattle are raised on wide-open Idaho pasture — not crowded feedlots. Each animal has 30+ acres to roam and graze naturally before being grain-finished for 75 days on feed raised on the same land.
