Everything you need to know about our beef, how we raise it, and how to get it to your door.

The Beef
Yes — our cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished. They graze on open pasture their entire lives, then spend their final 80–100 days on a grain diet. That finishing period is what gives Double B Beef its rich marbling, buttery flavor, and the consistent tenderness that sets it apart from exclusively grass-fed beef.
Grain-finishing is the practice of transitioning cattle to a grain-based diet in the final phase of their lives. It increases intramuscular fat — what you see as marbling in a steak. More marbling means more flavor, juicier cuts, and a texture closer to what you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse. It's why our ribeyes taste the way they do.
Our cattle are raised in Idaho by two ranch families — the same families who own and operate Double B Beef. This isn't sourced beef with a ranch label slapped on it. When you buy from us, you know exactly where your food comes from and who raised it.
All of our beef is processed at Oxford Packing, a USDA-certified facility in Downey, Idaho. Every cut is inspected, vacuum-sealed, and labeled before it ships. You're getting the same quality control as any premium retailer — without the retail markup.
Your beef ships vacuum-sealed and frozen in insulated packaging to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. It's not sitting in a warehouse — it's processed and packed to order.
The Rancher's Select Box
The Rancher's Select Box is our curated cut box — the best of what the ranch produces. Each box includes:
  • 4 Ribeye Steaks (~3.2 lbs)
  • 4 Filet Mignon (~1 lb)
  • 5 lbs Ground Beef
That's approximately 9.2 lbs of beef for $200 — roughly $21.74/lb for ribeyes, filets, and ground beef. Compare that to what you'd pay at the grocery store for that same spread.
Subscribe and we'll automatically send you a Rancher's Select Box on your chosen schedule — either every month or every two months. You're charged at the time of each shipment, and you can pause or cancel at any time. No contracts, no hassle.
Yes. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time directly through your account. No phone calls, no runaround. If you ever have an issue, reach out to us directly and we'll take care of you.
The Rancher's Select Box is a curated selection — the cuts are fixed. If you're looking for custom cuts and quantities, our bulk beef packages are the right fit for you.
Bulk Beef
We offer four bulk packages:
  • 1/8 Beef — ~40 lbs
  • Quarter Beef — ~80 lbs
  • Half Beef — ~160 lbs
  • Whole Beef — ~320+ lbs
All packages are priced at approximately $15/lb — a fraction of what the same cuts cost at retail. See all bulk options →
Because bulk beef is processed to order, we collect a deposit upfront to reserve your package. The remaining balance is invoiced before delivery. Think of it like reserving your share of the harvest — your deposit locks in your spot and your price. Nothing changes between deposit and delivery.
Timeline depends on processing availability and your package size, but typically runs 2 to 6 weeks from deposit to delivery. We'll keep you informed throughout the process. If you have a specific date in mind, reach out before you order and we'll do our best to work with your timeline.
Yes. Our bulk packages come with a standard cut selection, but you can request custom cuts — roast sizes, thickness, specific portions — by reaching out to us directly before your order is processed. We'll do our best to accommodate. Contact us here →
A good rule of thumb: every 35 lbs of beef requires approximately 1 cubic foot of freezer space.
PackageApprox. WeightFreezer Space
1/8 Beef~40 lbs~1.2 cu ft
Quarter Beef~80 lbs~2.5 cu ft
Half Beef~160 lbs~4.5 cu ft
Whole Beef~320+ lbs~9+ cu ft
A standard chest freezer (7 cu ft) comfortably fits a half beef. Going whole? You'll want a dedicated chest freezer.

About Double B Beef
Double B Beef is owned and operated by two Idaho ranch families. Yance, our third-generation rancher, grew up on this land. When you buy from us, you're buying directly from the people who raised your food — no middleman, no mystery. Just beef raised right and sold honestly.
At the grocery store, you don't know who raised the animal, where it was processed, or how long it's been sitting there. With Double B, you do. Our beef is:
  • Raised on Idaho pastures — not a feedlot
  • Processed at a USDA-certified facility in-state
  • Vacuum-sealed and shipped fresh to your door
  • Priced at roughly $15/lb for bulk — less than store price for far better quality
The beef is better. The price is better. You just have to try it once.
